I WAS ADAMANT ABOUT WHAT I COULD AFFORD!

With Meredith’s help, I bought in a great up-and-coming neighborhood in Oakland near Jack London Square. It is a warehouse area near the water and my home is in the first warehouse conversion that was done back in 1992. Now, it is establishing itself as a flourishing area with restaurants and great housing.

I had spent some time the year before attending open houses throughout the Bay Area just to get a pulse on the market. I finally decided to look into the possibility of buying when the rental opportunities offered were less than desirable for considerable rents.

I looked on the internet and started working with several realtors and a mortgage broker. After randomly contacting Meredith, I was compelled to cancel all my other appointments and work with her exclusively. Meredith immediately understood my financial parameters and personality.

The very first place we looked at was the right one for me.  I was adamant about what I could afford and fearful of going in over my head but Meredith reassured me and encouraged me through the process. We strategized together on the price I would offer and Meredith wrote a compelling cover letter to go with it. I thought for sure the seller would counter but it was right before Christmas and they gave me a great gift - they accepted!  I closed December 15th and moved in the next day.   

The following evening I went to use my laundry machines and to my surprise they had not just "walked across the room" but they had put a large hole in the wall.  When Meredith called the following day and asked how things were going I said, "Great, but I have yet to deal with my washer and dryer problem".  She quickly said "That's my job!" and promptly took care of getting both the machines and wall repaired.   

Meredith was an amazingly reassuring and professional guide through the whole process. Even her recommended mortgage broker, Kenny, was excellent. He had also utilized Meredith’s services to buy his loft and like Meredith was very comfortable sharing personal advice about the process.

I have since recommended Meredith (and Kenny) to many colleagues and friends. It was her professional knowledge in concert with her willingness to share from her personal experiences as a home owner that made her stand out from other realtors.
